About Us

We want to help illustrators profit from their existing work! That’s why we’re building Armadillo, a licensing website for the illustration community.

Conceived in the shower by illustrator Michele Rosenthal in early 2023, Armadillo will be a platform for working artists to showcase their licensable works, and a place for art buyers to discover the best in premium stock illustration.

Unlike existing stock websites, our goal is to provide the resources and education to facilitate one-on-one negotiation between artists and buyers. We won’t allow AI, and we won’t take a cut.

AI Policy

We at Armadillo believe human art is more valuable than ever. Our goal is to create an online space for illustration licensing without the pollution of AI-generated slop.

We stand with the illustration community in condemning unregulated AI models unethically trained on countless stolen artworks and draining our natural resources. Illustrations made in whole or in part with generative AI will not be permitted on our platform.
